Thermal insulation

By thermally insulating, we limit excessive heat flow, thus limiting energy losses and increasing the thermal comfort of the facility.

Based on the tests and measurements performed, the results show that the 1 mm thick GoTherm layer is equivalent to 2.5 to 10 cm of polystyrene. The results vary depending on the chosen test methodology (test standards, measurement stands) and environmental conditions.

Due to the variety of places and parameters in which our coatings work, we decided to use the least favorable, but safe conversion factor according to which 1 mm GoTherm is 2.5 cm of polystyrene.

Prevention of the precipitation of condensate

Condensation, i.e. condensation, causes the formation of moisture on the exposed surface, and thus its degradation.

How does condensation occur?

Water condensation (so-called water vapor condensation) on surfaces depends primarily on the temperatureand humidity of the air. Water vapor in contact with a cold partition with a temperature below the so-called The “dew point” condenses and causes moisture to accumulate.

The precipitating condensate often leads to significant heat losses as well as degradation of the surface finish of the partitions.

Condensation of water

The paint shifts the “dew point” and blocksthe formation of condensate on these surfaces. Thanks to its thermal insulation properties, it blocks the condensation of water vapor, insulates and protects the substrate against unfavorable conditions.

The pictures opposite show the temperature difference on the surface of the chilled water system. After applying only 1.2 mm of the paint, condensation was stopped.

Protection against hot surfaces

High-temperature surfaces (e.g. hot pipes) are areas that are hazardous to safety and often lead to burns.

The research carried out by the Silesian University of Technology confirms that even a few minutes’ touching of surfaces transporting the medium with a temperature above 80°Cand protected with thermal insulation paint does not cause any injuries.

The photo below shows the valve on the installation transporting the medium at a temperature of about 200 degrees C, the temperature of the valve surface is 160°C, as you can see after applying the 3mm thick coating, you could freely touch the insulated parts.

Reflection of solar radiation

Reflection of solar radiation Thermal radiation causes the building to overheat in summer – because the heat penetrates through the heated walls inside the rooms, and it cools the building faster in winter – because the heat escapes to the outside.

Tests carried out by the Institute for Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes in Gliwice confirmed that the total solar radiation reflection coefficient TSR for paints exceeds 90%. The phenomenon of “urban heat islands”, overheated attics and buildings heated to very high temperatures include effects caused by solar radiation. Reflective paint, which acts as a shield and reflects the radiation, can reduce these adverse effects.

GoTherm will be perfect both in winter on the inside of the building and in summer on the outside.

The paint significantly improves the thermal comfort of houses and buildings, halls, warehouses, container rooms or metal garages heated by intense solar radiation in the summer.

When applied to the inside of the wall, GoTherm effectively reflects the heat generated by all heat exchangers (e.g. radiators, radiators, etc.), thus maintaining the temperature inside the building and reducing heat transfer to the outside.

The use of coatings significantly reduces the cost of energy consumption both in summer (needed to cool rooms) and winter (needed to heat rooms).

Antibacterial and fungicidal activity

Microbes such as bacteria and fungi are the cause of many diseases and infections, so it is important to prevent their formation.

Microbiological tests commissioned by us, performed in the Microbiology Laboratory, confirmed the antimicrobial effect of coatings on the most common bacteria causing the spread of infections, such as Staphylococcus aureus.

The results of the research leave no illusions and clearly confirm that in the case of Candida albicans, the fungicidal effectiveness is 99.8%.

Mold prevention

Moisture that may arise on a poorly insulated surface is an ideal environment for the bloom of harmful and unsightly mold.

The conditions that favor mold growth most often occur at the site of thermal bridges. This is where the moisture builds up and maintains the temperature at which mycelium builds up and the mold spores rapidly multiply on the wall.

Thanks to its anti-mold properties, GoTherm effectively prevents the growth of mold and protects the surface against its re-bloom.
